"You should learn languages!" This is what our language teacher busts out with in the middle of class the other day. I really can't remember what I said- apparently I did something correct but what ever it was his comment threw me off a little:) I was a little confused and try to explain that I thought I was learning a language-Portuguese- in fact right at that very moment. He said, "yes but you should learn more."
I laughed.... hard!
What I will do is take that compliment and tuck it in my pocket for another day when I am really frustrated about how hard it is to learn Portuguese. For now I think I will just focus on this one, very difficult to pronounce language. And just to clear up any misguided ideas that I am near fluent in my new tongue... I am very very far from it. Language learning is fun and it is hard and it is exciting to start understand and frustrating when you can't actually respond.
And for now I will stick to Portuguese, but thanks anyways:)

Good for you!! The six Russian "cases" -- different endings on all the nouns depending on whether it's the subject of an action, the preposition, related to location, etc. -- are driving me nuts. But, some Russian friends told me that I have good pronunciation, so that's something anyway!
