Field Day
Sahara had Field Day today at her school. It was a nice sunny day so we all went out to watch her play this morning. Mark and Bria went back this afternoon while Tirza and I stayed home for nap time. As you can see we all had lots of fun!
Only 12 days left of 1st grade.

Bunnies, Bluegrass and Ballet
Last night our friends got us tickets to the ballet and watched Tirza for us so that Mark and I could take Sahara and Bria to the ballet. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The girls LOVED it. And I am not kidding the name of the show was Bunnies, Bluegrass and Ballet, because the final act was danced to a Live bluegrass band! I know it is hard to imagine but I have to give it a surprising 10 for entertainment. The first act was the story of Peter Rabbit, Sahara's favorite. The second was a classical ballet with lots of pretty ballerinas in tutus, Bria's favorite and mine too. And the final act was the bluegrass dance, Mark's favorite less because of the music and more because the male dancer actually had pants on...

Open Doors
(First of all let me explain that my girls and my nephews call my mom, Umma.) We were having our nightly prayer time with the girls earlier this month while my mom was visiting and it was time to decide who was going to pray first. Bria said that she had never heard Umma, pray- Ever! So Umma was happy to pray so that her sweet little granddaughter would have a memory of her praying. Umma prayed for several family members and especially for my sister, that lives in the middle east, that God would "open doors" for her to share the Good News. Bria was quiet during the prayer but the second my mom finished praying she said, "Umma, that is silly! We do not pray for open doors!" She was thinking that Umma was praying that God would literally open all the doors for my sister. The next night Bria tried Very hard to pray for open doors but could not control her laughter long enough to get it out. She is not one to give up and now is quite proud of herself that she can pray without laughing for Open Doors.

Here we go...
Okay so I have been saying for awhile that I needed to start a family blog as a companion to Mark's serious blog. And I finally decided to do it, all because of my nephew, Isaiah. We were talking with Kara and the boys on skype. Bria was talking to Isaiah, I think he had just finished singing her a song, and we hear his little voice through the computer say, "Mom, I want her to come here and play with me."
Since they live in India and we live in Tennessee, it will problay be a long time before that really happens but at least they still want to be together. Relationships are what you are willing to put into them, it doesn't matter how far apart you live. I am thankful for the way that technology has made it easier to connect with loved ones who live far away- Hope this blog helps you keep up with us.
