The crib is gone, taken down and put in the attic. So like it or not, and she does not, Tirza is in the big girl bed. The nights are getting better, she makes a little noise and then gives up and goes to sleep. We only had to go put her back in bed one time last night- doing good! Nap time is a little more of a challenge... Tirza is a smart girl, she has realized that if she doesn't fuss she can play, so play she does. It is suppose to be nap time right now and she is in her room playing away. I have heard the pages of books being turned, baby dolls being put to sleep (how ironic) and now I hear a pretend phone beeping.
She will eventually fall asleep. Yesterday I found her on the floor by her door with her bear, it looked like she had just fallen over sound asleep. That's fine and all but I have a feeling she is going to crash just minutes before I have to get her up to take Sahara to piano lessons. Oh well, we are getting there...

Sahara singing with a little help
The bed situation with Tirza has gotten way to frustrating to blog about so I thought we would go back to a funny video until we have some better news...

Big Girl Bed
For some reason, yesterday evening, Mark and I thought it was time to get the toddler bed out of the attic and move Tirza from the crib to the big girl bed. We moved the other girls when they were younger, both times because a new baby was coming and we needed the crib. I have been dragging my feet about moving Tirza, she sleeps so good in the crib and she still seems so little to me.
Night one didn't go so good- she was very agreeable- everything was "okay mommy" but as soon as I left she would jump out of bed. The new found freedom was just to hard to resist. Luckily for me Heidi brought over a baby gate so she was confined to her own room. She tried to call her sisters in for support. First she tried Bria, "Briabre, come here, play with me." Then Sahara, "Sissy, wanna see me. Sa come see me, come here." So it ended with Tirza very mad back in her crib.
Round 2- Nap time. Lots of playing, she would open her door and call for Mommy and Daddy, then give up, close her door and go back to playing. Mark and I left to go get coffee, when we came back- she was asleep. Heidi had laid down with her and she feel right asleep. Yeah!
Round 3- Bed time. Still in progress but not going so good. So far we have been through calling, crying, daddy laying down with her (he feel asleep but she did NOT) and now she is back on her own still not sleeping.
Can she out last the parents?
Update: She did finally fall asleep, on her own and in the big bed about 10pm! Mark had to run out and get batteries for her birds (her birds are a little crib thing that make music and projects a show on the ceiling) apparently she is still VERY attached to the birds.
She looked so sweet all snuggled up with Cuddles her bear.

Mouse Hunt
Earlier this week our friend, Allie, began seeing little mice all around her house. They set traps and her husband caught one but then had to leave on a business trip before all the uninvited guests were kicked out. So Mark, being the pest control guy, offered to help. Allie and I had a Bible study to go to so we left Mark with 5 of our 6 girls for the great mouse hunt. We returned to find...
Sahara and Parker about as wound up and excited as could be. They were the investigators and witnessed the take down of one little critter...
Tirza was playing totally oblivious to the action around her- we hear she was buzzed by a mouse and didn't even notice.
Chloe was bored with the events and was wanting someone to go play with her because...
Bria was terrified and was perched on the back of their couch, we learned she had been there most of the evening.
Apparently the first catch was an easy one and just when they thought they had done their job, Bria saw a giant mother of all mice run through the living room. Which is when she fixed herself on the back of the couch not to be moved until Mark carried her to the van hours later.
She told me when I got back, " Mom, I wish I were a great big cat with big teeth so I could catch that mouse and eat it so it wouldn't scare me anymore!"

Broken Heart
Last night at dinner Tirza said "Momma my heart is broken." and then stuck out her bottom lip. While Mark and I were laughing and trying to figure out what that meant she said, " and my finger has a boo-boo." Again with the bottom lip, such is the difficult life of a 2 year old. Whatever it was that caused this broken heart couldn't have been that bad because as soon as we smiled at her funny little predicament she started laughing with us.
Oh, our funny little Tirzy girl!

Countdown
We always seem to be counting down to something, waiting for something exciting to happen. The rest of this year (and next year) are going to be very exciting for us! Here are the next few things we are counting down...
The girls are counting down until tomarrow when they can go swimming and have lunch with their friends (even though we just got home from the same thing)
Monday- going to the zoo, with friends
And the bigger countdowns right now are:
39 days until Bria's 5th birthday
52 days until Letha gets back!
We aren't letting ourselves think beyond that...
