Here is a little flashback for all my Kenya friends:) You know who you are and if you didn't grow up or live in Africa there is a good chance that this post will make no sense to you. But for some it will bring back many a memory... of wearing Bata Bullets! I am once again the proud owner of a pair of Bata shoes. No, not bullets but Batas all the same. Here in this wonderful country of Portugal... Bata is a classy shoe store. No, I am not kidding! Every mall has a Bata store and even the outlet mall has a Bata outlet. The shoes (and purses) are stylish, popular... chosen even when there are other options.

Yah, serious aren't they cute! They go with everything... skirts, pants... dressy and casual. Really I couldn't get over it the whole time I was purchasing them! I am once again buying Bata shoes and they are really cute:)
I have to admit I did look for the Bullets and sadly (or maybe not so sadly) enough they were not to be found in this new generation of Bata shoes. But I am happy for Bata and their ability to expand and once again meet my needs for footwear.

Bata DOES live on! It is everywhere here as well, and expensive. I can't say it has the cutest shoes, but they aren't cheapies. AND Bata bullets are alive and well here! The boys are suppose to get white ones for their uniform at school.....we haven't made it there to make the purchase yet. :) Bullets are very often the shoe of choice here for school uniforms. haha. I had nasty army green ones in Kenya. :)
I miss my black bata bullets - I would so wear them today if I still had them! I have a picture of a Bata shoe store in one of the fancy malls of Dubai - so maybe they will even make it to America someday.
SHOES!! ANdy said I probably should not have read this post. I am a shoe fanatic. I don't have many vices, but SHOES! I can't wait for you to show me the best places.

really, I am amazed that Bata has done so well...but then how could they not, what with starting as fresh and cool as they did with Bata Bullets!
This post made my heart smile! So much so that I went to the back of my closet and dug out my green bata bullets and wore them...and got a few compliments on them too! Until Bata moves to CA and markets those super cute shoes you found, my old-school bullets will have to do!
