Seeing Some Sights

Thought you might like to see some of the sights we have been able to see this last week. All the different families on our team have been taking turns showing us places in the city. It is so much fun!
This is the Iron Man- he is a famous Portuguese writer (possibly poet). He sits outside a cafe in the Baixa and you are supposed to go have coffee with him.Bria enjoying the sights. Behind her is a big castle that sits on a hill, the girls thought it was really cool. You know the whole princess thing... a real castle is a big deal.
We are thinking of moving ALL our money here and recommend everyone does the same! It's the Holy Spirit Bank so how could you go wrong!

Here we are in the Praca do Comercio in front of the statue of King Jose 1. It is a really cool open square and you can see the river and the April 25th bridge from here as well. I thought this was the Baixa but turns out that a whole area of town is called the Baixa:)
This is in a very different part of town but also on the river. Behind me is the Vasco de Gama bridge, it's really really long like 10 kilometers or something. (We can't remember exactly how long but it is very long.)
Again, we can't remember all the details but we think this is called the Vasco de Gama tower. It is really high (kind of made me think of the Seattle Space Nettle). It used to be a revolving restaurant and now they are making it into a hotel. It is in a really pretty area of town, right on the river with lots of little cafes and places to walk.

Hannah, It's Jill. I'm keeping up w/ you all via your blog, but can't find your email address. Please email when you can ... nothing earth shattering, just catching up around the world. I still have my Charter email address, and I think you have my gmail account as well.

Love the pictures. Ella has the same blue dress that Bria is wearing in the latest!

What does "really different" mean? Sounds interesting. I've read of a couple really different parts/beaches of Lisbon but don't think that's what this is. :) Haha. Love the pictures!
