Cambria Rose

Bria
4 years old
Starting Kindergarten in August
Has started reading small books on her own.
She is very determined.
Shy but talks constantly when she is comfortable.
Very smart, she went to preschool this last year and just loved it.
She is very serious about learning.
Bria loves to go to ballet class, play with friends and her sisters, read books and playing barbies and princesses.
She has a very soft, sensitive heart, she tries hard to obey, most of the time, and prays like she really understands who she is praying to.
Bria wants everyone to know that she cares about people and we should all love one another.

Sahara Marie

Sahara
Almost 7 years old (in less than one month)
Starting 2nd grade in August
Loves reading- just last week she discovered how fun it is to read chapter books on her own.
Is a carbon copy of her Daddy's personality.
Very helpful and a friend to everyone she meets.
Sahara loves to play- outside, webkins on the computer, with friends, to go swimming or to be anywhere that someone will listen to her talk.
She enjoys going to ballet class and singing, when Sahara gets a chance to sing on stage she positions herself center front and sings her heart out!
Sahara loves Jesus but right now is waiting for God to talk to her, out loud, before she asks Jesus into her heart- she just doesn't quite get it yet. It is very fun because she is excited about learning and asks great questions.
Sahara wants everyone to know that she caught a fish and everybody loves me...
She has a song in her heart that I think plays aloud in her head and most of the day she is just skipping along.
That's a snapshot of my Sahara!

Wonderful Weekend

Wow- we have had a wonderful weekend. Full of friends, food and fun, lots of fun!

Friday night we had fun hanging out with my sister, Heidi. We went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, always good. (Sorry David, I just had to rub that one in.) Then Heidi took the big girls for ice cream while Mark and I ran to the store. Not only did she bring some back for me but it was Better Batter from Maggie Moos, YUM!

Then Saturday was the big party for Mark, you can see the slideshow on the last post. Tons of fun!

Sunday our church had a service all about missions. We are sending over 20 people to Albania in 2 weeks. It is really exciting to see our church family get involved in God's work around the world. After church we had friends over for lunch and we had such a good time talking that they stayed until about 5pm when they had to rush home to get ready for SaLT group, which was meeting at their house. Then friends from our group came over and we had more play and talk time for the evening. If you know Mark and I you know we love having people to talk too! It was great.

Today we joined some friends at the pool, always fun! More friends came out so we played and we played hard. Swimming, jumping, splashing... Tirza and her little friend tried to take a nap together in the same crib, they didn't sleep but every time we checked on them they were talking and giggling. It was a beautiful day, just right for swimming and playing outside.

Thank you to ALL our friends, for all the playing, talking, eating and laughing- we are so thankful for our friends!

The Pirate Party

Tonight was Mark's big party, a Pirates of the Caribbean party to be exact! We managed to pull of two surprises. One- Mark thought he was old enough to have a grown up BBQ but no we couldn't let that happen. Heidi went a bought the theme supplies and we got it all up before Mark came in and realized what was going on. Two- He had no idea about the "Mark Book." It turned out so nice, thanks to everyone who sent in their notes for Mark. It is so great to read through all the things that people love about Mark, especially as he turns 30:)

We had a blast at the party with all our friends over. Lots of food, lots of stories and laughing and plenty of kids running around. Tomarrow we get to relax and enjoy lots of left over cake!

Rewind

This picture was taken one year ago this week. And yes that baby is Tirza, she has changed so much! I would say the big brown eyes are about the only thing that is the same. Now she has a mane of blond hair and it would be hard to hold her still long enough to take a picture like this one. Sahara and Bria have grown way taller. Although they look similar just taller and older it is amazing to me what they learn in a year... Sahara now is reading chapter books and Bria can read! I can remember as a child a year seemed like a lifetime now a year goes by in a blink.
These below were taken 2 years ago about a month and a half before Tirza was born. Look how little Sahara and Bria are- they both still had baby faces. Sahara was almost finished with preschool, now she is going into 2nd grade. Bria was still in diapers now she is ready for kindergarten. It seems like just yesterday but yet I can't remember what life was like without Tirza running around.

Swinging

It was a beautiful spring day today. I kept my friend's girls for the day, there are 3 of them, the same ages as my girls so everyone had a playmate. It was great, they had so much fun!

We took a nice long walk after dinner and then let the girls play outside for a few minutes before bedtime.
(Have I mentioned how much I love the new swing set?!)
